At one time or another, someone has asked for cheat codes for games I have played. However, does having the cheat codes take the fun and challenge out of the games? Do they add to the gaming experience, or diminish the magic the game might have held for you?

For example, according to Wikipedia the Japanese name for Super Mario World is “???????????, S?p? Mario W?rudo.” Instead of using “w?rudo,” why didn’t Nintendo use the native Japanese word for “world?”
