You can borrow your friends copy tho to install it as you do not need the cd to play it once it is installed. Your Sims 2 might not be playing right because you do not have a video/graphics card that supports it. Go to the sims 2 website and check to see if your card is compatible. To find out what type of card you have: right click on your desktop and select properties. Then click on settings (at the top) and where it says Display underneath is your video card name. I had a problem like that, so I got a new video card... fixed the problem. Also try removing hacked objects from your download folder, and if that doesn't work, move your downloads folder to your desktop and run the game. That might help also.
